Overview

Sup to Srt is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your subtitle files are never uploaded to our servers. All OCR processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly technology.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • Your subtitle files or their contents
  • Personal information (no account or registration required)
  • Your IP address beyond standard web server logs
  • Any data about the content of your conversions

Information That May Be Collected

Web Server Logs

Standard web server logs may temporarily record your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. These logs are used for security and performance monitoring and are not shared with third parties.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate site usage (page views, browser types, country of origin). No individual user tracking or cross-site tracking is performed.

CDN Requests

The Tesseract OCR library is loaded from a CDN (jsDelivr) when you first use the converter. This request is made by your browser and is subject to jsDelivr's privacy policy.

How File Processing Works

When you upload a .sup file:

  1. The file is read by your browser's File API — it never leaves your device
  2. The PGS parser runs entirely in your browser's JavaScript environment
  3. Tesseract OCR processes subtitle images locally via WebAssembly
  4. The resulting SRT file is generated in memory and offered for download
  5. No data from your file is transmitted to any server at any point

Cookies

Sup to Srt does not use cookies for tracking or personalization. Any cookies present are strictly functional (session state) and are not used for advertising or profiling.

Third-Party Services

The Service uses the following third-party resources:

  • Google Fonts: Loads Inter typeface from Google's CDN. Subject to Google's privacy policy.
  • jsDelivr CDN: Loads the Tesseract.js OCR library. Subject to jsDelivr's privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
